A Ceremony That Actually Sounds Like You

You don't want a script lifted from someone else's day. You want a wedding ceremony that sounds like you, your relationship, your people, your sense of humour. Something that makes your guests lean in because they recognise you in every line.

That's what I do. I write ceremonies from scratch, around your story, with room for as much or as little tradition as you fancy. Outdoor on a cliff. Indoor by a fire. Handfasting, candle lighting, sand ceremony, a reading from your six-year-old nephew. If it matters to you, it belongs in the day.

Celebrant vs registrar

What a Celebrant Gives You That a Registrar Can't

A lot of couples come to me with the same question. So here's the short version.

A registrar is limited to a licensed venue, a set script, and religion-free wording. A celebrant-led ceremony can happen anywhere, include anything, and take whatever shape you want it to take. A beach, a woodland, your own back garden. Poetry, humour, readings from both your grandparents, a handfasting, a blessing. No time limit. No rulebook.

Your Love Story

Yours, from start to finish

What a Celebrant Gives You That a Registrar Can't

From the first joyful "yes" to the gentlest goodbye, I write and lead ceremonies that hold the people they're for. Choose a path below to explore what's included, or let's talk through what feels right for you.

Will It Be Legally Binding?

In England and Wales, celebrant ceremonies aren't yet legally binding on their own. Most of my couples handle the legal bit quietly at their local register office on a separate day. It takes about ten minutes, costs around £57, and you can bring two witnesses in your jeans if you like. Then the celebrant ceremony becomes the part everyone will remember. The real one. The one that feels like you.

Wedding packages from £400

What's in the Package

Every wedding includes:

  • An initial consultation. A free, no-obligation call or meeting so we can get to know each other and talk through your vision.
  • A fully bespoke ceremony script. Written around your relationship, your values, and the story you want told.
  • Rituals and symbolic elements. Handfasting, candle lighting, unity ceremonies, sand ceremonies. Whatever resonates.
  • Help with personal vows. If writing your own vows feels like staring at a blank page, I'll guide you through it.
  • Unlimited edits. Until every line feels right.
  • Liaison with your other suppliers. Venue, photographer, musicians. I'll make sure the ceremony slots seamlessly into the rest of your day.
  • A rehearsal. In person or online, so everyone knows the flow.
  • Professional officiation on the day. With a PA system if your venue needs one.
  • A printed copy of your ceremony script and a commemorative certificate to keep.

Wedding packages from £400 to £600, depending on complexity and travel.

The Process

How We'll Work Together

01
A first chat.

Free, no obligation. We'll talk about what you're imagining and whether I'm the right fit.

02
The planning questionnaire.

Once you've booked, I send you a guide and some questions that help me properly get to know you.

03
Draft and refine.

I write the first draft and we edit together, as many times as it takes for you to feel proud of every word.

04
Rehearsal

We walk through the ceremony so you know exactly what to expect.

05
Your day.

I arrive early, settle everyone in, and hold the space while you do the big thing.

06
Afterwards.

You keep a beautifully printed copy of the ceremony to treasure.

The Kinds of Weddings I Love

  • Outdoor weddings, particularly coastal or woodland
  • LGBTQ+ ceremonies
  • Second marriages and vow renewals
  • Blended family weddings where children and stepchildren play a real role
  • Small, intentional gatherings with only your closest people
  • Multi-cultural ceremonies where I'm confident I can honour the traditions properly
